3 Minutes to Midnight has been in development for 3 years already. We are not starting from scratch now—in fact, the game is almost finished. Without this campaign, this game would be finished according to our original plan and released this year. But recently, we decided we wanted to take it to the next level.
We had so many ideas for multiple plotlines that we really wanted to incorporate. This means multiple story endings, various solutions to puzzles, etc.—but it also requires writing more dialogue, making more animations, doing more programming… and overall spending more time and money on it. And that is why we need your help. We just need a little push here to make it all happen.

Steam? Is there no DRM-free version?
We will have a DRM-free version of the game for sure. What we don’t know at this point is on what platform. (GOG, Itch.io, Humble, or direct download).
We do know how important it is to have a DRM-free version. Back any tier you like, and the survey after the campaign is over will ask you which version you prefer.

Will the boxed edition be available for purchase after the Kickstarter campaign?
No. All of our boxed editions are Kickstarter exclusive and won’t be available for purchase after the campaign is over. This really is a one time offer—when we say exclusive, we really mean it! ;-)

Can I get a console version?
Unfortunately, this campaign is only for the Win, Mac, and Linux versions. We are preparing the port to Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and other consoles, but we didn’t want to include it in the campaign because at this point we can’t confirm it 100%.

I'd like to get an add-on. What do I have to do?
Whether you think the shirt is really cool, or you want the hint book, you can buy any of the add-ons at the end of the campaign. However, you must have pledged enough to meet at least one tier, but which one doesn’t matter. If you don’t meet this requirement you won’t be able to purchase any add-ons! So, imagine you want to get the game and a t-shirt, but don’t care about the fancy stuff. In that case you could just purchase the basic tier + the shirt as an add-on.

Is this reward included in my tier?
As a general rule of thumb, unless it’s specifically mentioned, it is not included. However, if a tier includes a physical version of a goodie that is also available in a digital fashion, you will also receive it with no additional cost.
Additionally, since tiers cannot be edited, here’s a list of exceptions:
1. All backers that pledged 100€ or more will get a digital version of the hint book as a free bonus.
2. All of our 300€ tier backers will get a free upgrade: instead of the Criminal Record reward, you now get the Most Wanted reward.
3. Does your pledge tier include physical stuff? We have good news for you! You will get those plus their digital versions too, as a free bonus.

With the physical versions, do I get just another game key or is there an actual disc inside?
You will get your physical editions with an actual disc, just like the old times. :-) Also, the disc will contain all three versions: Win, Mac, Linux.

While we believe 42 is truly the answer to every question, some people might be more inclined to believe 42 is the answer to a question we don’t yet know. Whichever line of thinking you align with, we won’t pester you about it, though if you asked us what we thought about people who don’t believe in either doctrine, our answer would be 42.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
